We were thrilled to host “The Circular Shift: Transforming Waste into a Bio-based Economy” at Maynooth University as part of Bioeconomy Ireland Week 2025 🌱
The workshop sparked dynamic discussions on how Ireland can turn waste into value — from urban and agrifood waste to textiles, wool, and protein recovery systems.
Highlights included innovative projects such as CircBioCityWaste, EnableBIO, FIXÉire, RefineTEXT, REVEIRE, SCProtein, and UrBioPro, showcasing cutting-edge approaches to building a circular, bio-based future.
Organised by the EcoLOGIC Research Group (Maynooth University) and BioREFINE (UCC), and funded through the EPA and Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, the event celebrated Ireland’s growing circular economy movement ♻️
